Anna Caitlin Photography

I had an epiphany years ago that changed the way I run my business. I realized that I did not need to be looking around at what others were doing and try to do the same; I realized I could ask myself, "What would YOU want in a photographer?" and be exactly that, instead.

I treat my clients the way I would want to be treated- it's that simple. I try to give my clients everything that I would dream of in a photographer. I keep my prices reasonable and bring my full attention to every single shoot; I do not want to merely photograph you, I want to make an intent connection.

I truly care about the people I photograph and it is because of this that I am able to treat them just as I would want to be treated.

My main goal in my work is to capture real moments in life and to translate them into art.  We all have the ability to capture life's moments on our phones these days, therefore my job is not just to capture these moments, but to capture them as art; Art that you would want to hang on your walls; to send to your loved ones; to treasure for the rest of your life.  I want to create for you timeless pieces of art with your own living moments.

My style is a blend of Fine Art and Lifestyle.  Whether we are in your home or out in nature, I try to facilitate authentic interaction: then capture the real moments that follow.  I give as much or as little direction as you need, and make it truly feel like we are just hanging out and I just happen to have brought my camera along for the ride.

I am an Oregon girl, currently residing in Southeast Portland surrounded by forests and mountains and an abundance of inspiring, creative, progressive people.

I am inspired by getting to know new people and hearing their stories of how they became who they are, so...

Let's connect. Let's grab a bite or a cup of tea, and let's begin to be friends and let the magic that can unfold in living moments, and capturing them in an artful way, become a reality.

You bring your life story UNIQUE TO ONLY YOU, and I'll bring my camera, and together we'll make something timeless.

What equipment do you use?

I am a Nikon girl, shooting with two Nikon D810 cameras.  I use mostly prime lenses, my favorites being 50mm 1.4, 35mm 1.4 and 45mm Tiltshift.

How long have you been doing this?

I took my first photograph when I was 12 and have had a camera in my hand, capturing life, ever since.  I have been running my own full time business for 5 years.

Do you edit all the photos?

I go through all the photos taken at the shoot and pull out the best ones to personally edit and then give to you.  Each image that you receive will be individually edited tobring out it's best qualities.

What are you looking for in a client?

I love when clients hire me as an artist and not just a photographer, to capture their special life stories.  My clients tend to be creative, have a interesting sense of humor and a little bit of quirk.  and no matter who you are, the changes are pretty high that I am going to totally fall in love with you and your life story.

Who retains the copyright to our images?

we’ll both share the copyright to the images. you are more than welcome to order your own prints anywhere at anytime, as well as share your photos all over your social media (don’t forget to tag anna caitlin photography!). if you want to use them for any commercial or professional work, drop me a line and we can chat about it first.

Do you travel?

Yes indeed!  I love to hop on a plane and go somewhere new!  Travel expenses (plane ticket and lodging) are the only travel fees.

How do we receive our photos?

For portrait sessions all of your edited high resolution images are hosted on am online gallery where you can share and download at your own convenience.

For weddings, all of your edited high resolution images are hosted on an online gallery where you can share and download as well as a wooden USB stick that is mailed to you.  Most wedding packages come with a print package as well.

What should i wear to my portrait session?

Neutral colors and black photograph very well and are always safe bets.  However the right pop of color can be just what a photos needs!  I would say be you!  Be comfortable!  And it will be perfect!  I am always more then happy to chat more about this, please get in touch and we can talk in more detail.

How many weddings do you shoot a year?

I take on a limited amount of weddings per year to keep the quality high and my life sane.  :)

How many hours should we book for our wedding?

The majority of weddings are 8 hours of shooting time, however there is no right number so if your wedding is less or more, that's not a problem!  I like to be very flexible with wedding packages.

Do you bring a second shooter to weddings?

I bring a second photographer with me to most weddings with a guest list of over 150 people.  If you want a second shooter for a smaller wedding, that can totally be arranged.
